Time to drop it in!
After some thought on turbo options, what kit to use etc it was obvious Avo would be the route to take. Keep the weight down low, nice fitment, extensively tested by us since the cars release in 2012 proving its self a fantastic performer with fantastic reliability.... It just so happened we had a stage 4 turbo kit in stock which is designed for 400-450bhp....Ample you would think....
Whilst hunting around the workshop for used parts I came across Adrian's turbo and associated parts used on the race car up until 2019 - GT86R that made 630bhp on race fuel.... Now that sounds more like me! It uses the base Avo turbo kit but with a GTX3076r Gen 1 turbo if we are going to push this thing to breaking point to see what power the stock pistons can take lets do it big!
Looking a little dirty from sitting on the shelf, this thing has had a hard life at over 2bar on the GT86R but I don't care about that I just want to get it on the car and driiiiiiiive it!
Looking tasty all bolted up to the engine very close to being ready to go in!
As if by magic it is now in the bay
So we now have the setup ready to run in!
- Ecutek 750cc Injectors
- Sytec Motorsport 300ltr/hr direct fit fuel pump SYT650G - Soon to be listed
- Avo airbox and intake kit
- Ecutek Turbocharged advanced mapping for speed density, boost control, flat foot shift, auto blip, launch control, custom maps etc etc. It really is fantastic what you can do with the stock ecu thanks to Ecutek!
- AEM UEGO Wideband tied into the stock ecu for logging and full time closed loop race rom fueling.
Run in will be some low-medium RPM load cycles using the fantastic millers running in oil and a cheap blueprint oil filter which will then be switched out to fully synthetic Millers oil and a blitz oil filter when I am happy running in is complete.
